Panthers vs Jaguars Odds, Picks, and Predictions Week 17: Carolina Pesters Slumping JAX

The Carolina Panthers head to the Sunshine State to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in NFL action today. Carolina has the worst record in the league at 2-13 but Jacksonville hasn’t exactly looked good lately either, losing four in a row.

Oddsmakers expect the Jags to snap that skid in this Week 17 matchup with NFL odds installing them as 6.5-point home favorites. Here are my free NFL picks for the Panthers vs. Jaguars on December 31.

Panthers vs Jaguars predictions

The Jacksonville Jaguars are 0-4 straight up and against the spread in their last four games and are coming off an ugly 30-12 loss to the Buccaneers. The biggest betting concern about backing the Jags right now is the h…

Week 2 NFL Betting Trends: Fireworks in the AFC East

The theme for Week 2 in pretty much any NFL season is to not overreact. It’s pretty common knowledge that we get some results that turn out to be massive outliers in the season’s opening week, so don’t go wild basing too many of your Week 2 bets on what happened last week.

While some of the results could carry over — maybe the Saints are good and the Falcons stink, others will likely be corrected as all those star rookies can’t possibly be that bad… Sadly, Bryce Young probably is though.

While some teams and players quite simply aren’t themselves at this point of the season, we probably shouldn’t be confused by the performance of the Bengals in Week 1. While they’re still hovering around the top ten on the…

Fellaini, who spent 11 seasons in England with United and Everton, recently returned to the country after a spell in Dubai following the outbreak of Covid-19.

“The official test confirmed that the player Fellaini has tested positive for the coronavirus during the quarantine observation period,” the club said in a statement.

Burnley v Liverpool: match preview

Liverpool need to keep on winning to have any hope of challenging Manchester City and with Diogo Jota picking up four goals in his last four in all competitions, while Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané return to the squad, they feel very well equipped to dispatch Burnley. Sean Dyche’s side, of course, are no pushovers, draws against Chelsea, West Ham, Wolves, Arsenal and Manchester United are proof of that but drab stalemates are not good enough. Now might not be the time to throw caution to the wind, and another creditable draw would be nice, but without wins Burnley will go down. Graham Searles

Manchester City agree revised £53m deal with Wolves for Matheus Nunes

Manchester City have struck a revised final agreement to sign Matheus Nunes worth €62m (£53.2m) after overcoming a late hiccup in negotiations over the financing of the deal. Wolves have commanded a club-record sale, surpassing the £47m departure of their former captain Rúben Neves to the Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal earlier this summer.

City and Wolves came to the agreement, a deal containing no add-ons, late on Wednesday night and Nunes has travelled to Manchester for a medical before completing the move.

Wolves will receive 10% of any profit City make on the future sale of the Portugal midfielder, who made clear his desire to move after failing to report for training since Sunday, after City’s first bid …

Emotional Ukraine team one win away from 2022 World Cup

For the first time since Russia’s senseless invasion, the Ukraine men’s national soccer team took the field. In a win-or-go-home World Cup Qualifier and true-road contest against Scotland, Ukraine triumphed 3-1 Thursday at Glasgow’s Hampden Park. After months of worrying about their home and possible strife from Russian aggression, Ukraine is now one game from clinching a spot at the 2022 World Cup. “Every game for us now is like a final. We have one more and we need to win it – we need to take it or this won’t mean anything,” said Ukraine’s Oleksandr Zinchenko after the game. “We scored three goals, we could’ve scored even more. [Sunday] is going to be a massive game for us. We need to show the best performance of our lives.” Many of the players were out of form w…

The Giants sign Daniel Jones in hopes that he’s the next Eli Manning

The New York Giants paid Daniel Jones his money, and no one feels particularly great about it other than the Maras and Jones. Well, probably Eli Manning, as well, considering the recent comments he made about his successor. It felt like a very quarterback club thing to do, like the way Trent Dilfer defends game managers, but I digress. The funny thing is, if you look at the numbers, Daniel Jones was a better QB over his first four years than Manning. In 57 appearances — 55 starts — in his first four years, Manning accounted for nearly 11,600 total yards (most of them passing), 79 total touchdowns, and 76 total turnovers. In Jones’ four years — 54 appearances, 53 of them starts — he has just over 13,300 yards total, 72 total TDs, and 56 turnovers. The wins and losses fav…

The Hater’s Guide To March Madness 2016

It’s that time of year again … time to say rotten, hateful things about every team in the NCAA tournament bracket. And what a bunch of shitty, corrupt teams they are! I don’t think there’s ever been a tournament featuring so many schools that are in the middle of horrifying scandals: Yale, Cal, Oregon … there was even a fucking Mateen Cleaves scandal this week. And I haven’t even gotten to Duke’s general awfulness. THE HATE IS SO VERY STRONG, which means now is the perfect time for a Hater’s Guide Deadcast. Oh, but we got more! As part of our annual tradition, we also went through this year’s Name of the Year bracket. That’s right: You get two bracket breakdowns for the price of one. LUCKY YOU. If you have any tips you’d like to submit the podcast, just send it in …
