Ballack considering MLS move

Bayer Leverkusen veteran Michael Ballack has indicated that he is seriously thinking about furthering his career in Major League Soccer.

The 35-year-old is widely expected to leave Leverkusen in the summer, when his contract with the Bundesliga outfit expires.

A move to the United States has been suggested as the likeliest scenario for Ballack, whose agent revealed last month that the former Germany international was interested in joining the New York Red Bulls.

The fire is still burning, I am still looking for a challenge, Ballack told ZDF.

Conte hits out at ´disrespectful´ Bayern amid Kane transfer speculation

Antonio Conte has suggested Bayern Munich have been a bit disrespectful by refusing to rule out a move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

Kane, who has two years remaining on his Spurs contract, is reportedly being lined up as a potential replacement for Robert Lewandowski at the Allianz Arena following the prolific Poland captain s switch to Barcelona.

Bayern head coach Nagelsmann has expressed his admiration for the England skipper, but says he knows Kane may be too expensive.

The Bavarian giants CEO Oliver Kahn had denied that the club are interested in buying Kane during this transfer window, but refused to rule out a move for the 28-year-old further down the line.

Gareth Southgate to strengthen squad even more

MIDDLESBROUGH (SW) – Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate has promised his fans to strengthen his squad even more by the time that the transfer window closes.

Speaking after the controversial signing of the twenty one year old midfielder Didier Digard from PSG for 4 million on a four year contract as well as 3.2 million signing of twenty year old Marvin Emnes from Sparta Rotterdam Southgate said that these two young players will be the first of a number of signings before the 2008/9 season gets underway in August.

During the last Dutch season Emnes netted eight goals in the last ten matches of the season.

He added that the club is constantly monitoring the situation and hope to have more players signed by the club sooner rather than later.
