Borussia Dortmund will have to do without Dede for the rest of the year. The Brazilian defender will have to undergo surgery on his right knee and won t return before January 2010.
The 31-year-old left-back picked up his injury during Sunday s match against Werder Bremen (1-1). Medical research proved an operation was necessary. It s the third time Dede has surgery on his left knee after earlier operations in August 2008 and February 2009.
This July the unlucky full-back, who s in his twelfth year with the club, broke his jaw.
